PTFE Tubing is one of the best tubings available for the plumbing of ozone gas. This tubing is more flexible than all other tubing in its class and can resist nearly all industrial chemicals. Ozone Solutions stocks this tubing for our use when building ozone systems and also offers this tubing for sale. Tubing is normally in stock and can ship in 10 foot incremental lengths.

PTFE, or Polytetrafluoroethylene, is the grandfather of all fluoroplastics. PTFE is premium tubing due to its outstanding chemical resistance and temperature resilience. It is totally resistant to UV radiation. With a temperature range of approximately -330°F to 500°F, it offers the widest temperature range of the fluoropolymers. In addition, it has excellent electrical properties and low permeability. PTFE tubing is most widely used as laboratory tubing and for applications where chemical resistance and purity are essential. PTFE has a very low coefficient of friction and is one of the most “slippery” substances known.

PTFE tubing is best used with Kynar Fittings which are specially designed to create a tight seal around plastic tubing. These fittings come in a variety of sizes and specifications and are resistant to abrasion and corrosion.

Key properties of PTFE

  • PTFE has the lowest coefficient of friction of all polymers.
  • Useful in high temperature applications
  • Very good chemical resistance to all common solvents, acids and bases.
  • PTFE is virtually unaffected by oxygen, ozone and UV light.
  • Excellent dielectric insulation properties.
  • The working temperature of PTFE is extremely broad, ranging from 260oC (500oF) to -270oC (-454oF)
